The new Nissan Micra was launched this week. I don’t know who wants to know about the new Micra, but here we go.
The new Micra is at least better looking than the old one. The old one looked very Fiat 500 gone weird, the new one is far more ‘neutral.’ I can see hints of Ford Figo in it but maybe thats just me.
Power is from a 1.2 or 15 petrol engine or a 1.5 diesel. 3 Trim levels and four doors.
See? Nothing exciting. What I have never understood with the old Micra is why you would have bought it over a Fiesta, Corsa or Polo. The new one is priced to take on the Figo and Polo Vivo, and seems ok in that regard. I just don’t know if it can take on those 2 as well as the new Toyota Aygo? Thoughts?

The new Micra seems to blend in with the rest of the small segment cars at least with the old one you stood out and with a bodykit – it looks quite impressive. I’ve bought my 2006 1.4l Micra K12 ascenta sport a year ago and the most impressive feature is the fuel aconomy at 4.4 l/100km and when travelling at 2500 to 2900 revs it can even reach 3.9l/100km. I have seen the future of Micra but still prefer the older version.
