This rare Mercedes-Benz 26/120/180 ‘S’ Type Sports Tourer has been in the same family since new, and is now up for auction. Just look at it. It’s beautiful.
When they were new, the supercharger-equipped S series Mercedes were among the fastest cars in the world, with a100mph top speed. Any S series is valuable and sought after, but the story behind this particular car will likely make it even more appealing to buyers when it crosses the auction block at Bonhams’ Goodwood Revival sale on September 15.
The car was only recently rediscovered, hiding out in a collection in rural England and unused since the 1950′s. Even so, the car still runs as it should! The car is completely original and unrestored. Combined with the fact the car has been in the same family since new, we’d say the car will likely command a price quite a bit higher than the £1.5m (R19.7m) figure mentioned in Bonhams’ press release, announcing the sale.
